Aman Ethiopia Tours的点评
点评：We did a Danakil Depression, Axum, Gondar, Bahir Dar and Lalibela 13-day tour with Aman Tours. Our guide was friendly, very knowledgeable and provided very interesting historical and current information. There was one day/night of poor planning that caused us to arrive at the Erte Ale volcano after dark and to arrive so late at the campground that our camping spot was among the vehicles -- the noise and engine exhaust was hard to deal with. We saw amazing sites in Danakil and enjoyed the different centuries-old churches and castle.
Most of our drivers in the various locations were very good. All of our vehicles were good, except that our Land Cruiser in the Danakil Depression did not have adequet A/C, legroom or an ice chest. None of the vehicles had a trash bag.
No provision was made for bathroom facilities in the Danakil Depression. Three days without a toilet is a long time. This would be okay if there were some rocks or bushes you could get behind, but it was often open areas. The frustrating thing is that it is not that hard to buy or build a camp toilet and toilet tent (I've done it as a guide myself and I've been on other tours where they have done it).
Our hotels ranged from good in Addis Ababa and Axum to not that good in Lalibela, Bahir Dar and Gondar to the worst we have ever stayed at in Hawzen.
Although we saw fantastic sights, I would not return to Ethiopia. There was too much trash, too many kids begging from tourists and way too many people trying to sell you things.
