Lost its Identity - More like a Butlins Holiday Camp than a Garden Centre.

点评：What is this place? It certainly isn't a garden centre anymore. Having visited a few times over the years it has gradually become a giant non-entity, packed to the rafters with worthless tat and junk to fill your homes with along with some bad taste fashions for the elderly. The plant side of the business clearly isn't as profitable as the rest and so the plant areas have shrunk to give way to more of the imported junk. Plants are now in two diminishing areas, the shrubs hidden away in ever decreasing numbers behind a dark covered area next to the trellis and junk to fill your garden with. It is a disappointing place to visit if you're a gardener, the very core of the business treated like an unwanted relation. As for the cafe's, well it is clear where the money is made, however my food was foul acidic, Italian chicken, I couldn't eat the sauce it was like someone squeezed a tube of tomato puree over it. The chefs should really taste what they squeeze out of the packets first to make sure it is palatable - not that they could do much about it if that's their baseline level of cooking. The atmosphere it horrible, rushed, chaotic, queues too long as the person on the till makes drinks, the restaurant packed, loud, all the ambience of a Butlins Canteen while the other half of the restaurant is closed off because they don't want people to be spread out, never mind the fact they are paying to be there. Owners should take notice, if this is your Flagship store then please don't roll it out to the others, it is an uncoordinated scruffy mess and certainly not what I would call a garden centre.
