Peaceful Morning Birding Experience at Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary

点评：We (wife and a toddler) visited **Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary** on the **morning batch from 6:00 am to 8:00 am**, and it turned out to be a truly memorable and rewarding experience. The entire communication and coordination were smoothly handled by **Mr. Mahesh**, who was prompt, professional, and very helpful from the beginning.
Our tour guide, **Mr. Singhe**, deserves special appreciation for his excellent knowledge and clear explanations. He was patient, enthusiastic, and ensured that everyone on the boat understood what we were seeing. The boat ride itself was calm and scenic, and **our boatman, Mr. Chinthaka**, navigated the waterways skillfully and quietly, allowing us to observe the birds without disturbance.
We were fortunate to see **plenty of birdlife** during the short two-hour window. Some of the highlights included **Painted Storks, Asian Openbills, Spot-billed Pelicans, Eurasian Spoonbills, Little and Great Egrets, Purple Herons, White-breasted Kingfishers, Indian Cormorants**, and even a **White-bellied Sea Eagle** soaring above. The early morning timing was perfect, with soft light and active bird movement.
Overall, this was a peaceful, educational, and well-organized birding experience. I would highly recommend the **morning session** at Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary, especially for nature lovers and bird photographers.
