Out of the way refuge is interesting and doesn't lack for visitors
Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge的点评
点评:I would never have stumbled into this national wildlife refuge on Florida's west coast without the guidance of my old work mate, but I'm glad he took me here. You park across the street from the entrance to this refuge and then walk in the park.
You come to a series of small inlets linked by a trail, and in some of these inlets you will see manatees, which are actually related to elephants. They look something like seals--but they are not seals.
On the other side of the canals and inlets are houses which are not part of the refuge. Portions of the waterways have been cordoned off for the manatees to hang out in.
I walked along the whole trail and this was very fun. There is a fee to get in the area but it is less if you have the national senior pass, or if you are a resident of the county. At the end of your walk, a bus takes you back to the parking area.
Check it out!
