点评:Tomoka Park is a long thin park running mostly north to south and sandwiched between the Tomoka and Halifax rivers just north of Ormond Beach. The entrance to the park is in the center of the long strip of land on the east side of Beach Street. There is a $5 fee to enter the park. You pay at the ranger station as you enter. If you follow the road to the north end of the park you will arrive at a needle-shaped parking lot that offers plenty of space to park. The 3+ story sculpture is right in front of the parking lot surrounded by a sunken stone amphitheater. It is a very impressive feat for having been constructed and dedicated in March of 1957. A short walk past the statue brings you to the river. I think that this trail gives you a true feel for what original Florida was: sandy paths, covered paths with Spanish moss everywhere. You can follow the quaint path around back to the parking lot or south to follow it along the river. There are large informational signs at the entrance to the parking lot, in front of the statue and by the water. They tell the story of the park, the inhabitants and how they lived. Overall, this is a nice stop to see a place that native Floridians, the Timuacans
