点评：Firstly, I want to say that the facilities were brilliant and I really cannot fault anything in terms of the overall experience.
I asked the team if the chips were gluten free and whether they were cooked in a separate fryer.
I completely understand how difficult allergies can be to manage and how much of a pain it can be for the kitchen and the team ,which is exactly why I was asking about something as simple as chips. We were there for a birthday party, and we hadn’t specifically chosen the venue, so we were only trying to make sure our child could have something safe to eat.
Instead of checking or explaining this, I was told several times that they could not “suggest” what I should order, which wasn’t what I was asking. I simply wanted to know if the chips are cooked in a gluten-free fryer or if there is a risk because the fryer is shared.
The team kept directing us to the allergy information, which is absolutely fine, and I do understand that no guarantee can be given. However, I believe that if the kitchen team are made aware that there is an allergy, they may be able to take a little extra care. While cross-contamination may still happen by accident, the risk can sometimes be reduced if the team are at least informed ,so I wasn’t sure why this couldn’t be passed on to the kitchen.
For people with allergies or intolerances, this information is important, and a quick check with the kitchen would have been helpful. The response felt dismissive, and it left me unsure whether the cross-contamination risk was accidental or guaranteed because of the equipment used.
