An awful experience which could have been avoided
Mount Laura Homestead Museum的点评
点评：We were really excited about visiting this museum. Opening hours state 10am to 3pm. We arrived at 2.40pm to find the place being closed and when we queried this due to the advertised opening hours, we were told we didn't have enough time to visit. We would have been happy to shorten our visit time to accommodate the caretaker but were not even given any option for this.
This is really ANNOYING as we have travelled extensively and found that all attractions stay open until the advertised closing time, the staff staying until the last visitors have completed their visit. Some places advertise "last admittance time" if wanting to close by a certain time. Really disappointed in the attitude as we were wanting to spend money around Whyalla as the town has been having a hard time of late. The attendant didn't even try to talk to us but just kept walking away carrying the open signs. Would think twice about attending this museum which is a pity as it looked quite interesting. We are going to refer this to the Tourist Information Office in Whyalla as I think there should be some thought given on how to handle opening hours for tourist attractions.
