点评:So we made the 25 min trip to the pool to try someplace different and most importantly get a ride on the slide.
This is the second time we visited after an earlier aborted attempt, previously visiting on a friday evening for the waiki waves session. On this day the que snaked down the street. After waiting 30 mins in this queue with zero movement we sacked it off and went home.
After this experience I mistakenly put it down to the friday night wave event nature of admission and also our bad luck. We visited again today- midmorning thursday. The Que was better- this time, 25-30 strong instead of 75-80ish but again- no movement or indication of how long you’ll be outside waiting to come in and make it poolside. Parking is across the street at a nearby tesco car park, but this has a strict 2 hour limit- you’ll no doubt need longer after queuing. This brings me to my main point and what caused our 2 aborted attempts at a visit- there is no booking system. Bookings are all on the day, walk up. So there is no way to know when things will be peak or not/ when to journey or hold off. Seems pretty archaic to operate like this when judging from other reviewers this is a common occurrence, with waits to getting in between 20mins- 1 hour as standard.
I’m not sure what the council gain from this other than disgruntled parents, disappointed children & potential future lost revenue? It wasn’t meant to be today and now, after these 2 failed visits it’ll never be as there will be no third attempt at a visit.
If you’re travelling any kind of distance to visit- save yourself a journey. It’s too unpredictable to gain entry or not as another reviewer has put it and not good when you’re having to explain this to young children. Save yourself the time and hassle- book elsewhere, where you can book and be guaranteed a play swim.
