点评：We joined two tours with Rolf Hicker (Vancouver Island Photo Tours) in summer 2025 and it was really one of the highlights of our holiday. If you’re visiting Vancouver Island and are interested in photography, wildlife, or simply experiencing nature in a deeper way, I can’t recommend him enough.
What stood out immediately was Rolf’s incredible dedication. His knowledge of the local wildlife is remarkable — not just where animals might appear, but also their behaviour, habitats, and the best ethical ways to observe and photograph them without disturbing. We also learnt a lot about the connections between salmon, salmon farms and grizzlies.
On top of that, Rolf is simply a very kind and friendly person. He creates a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and you quickly feel like you’re exploring with a knowledgeable friend rather than just a guide.
If you’re looking for a meaningful, personal and educational wildlife (photography) experience, a tour with Rolf Hicker is absolutely worth it.
