点评:Worth visiting for just one feature (although there are many others too!) - the Marble Hall, which is surely one of the most impressive stately rooms in Scotland! Gosford is only occasionally open to the public but very much worth a visit if you get the opportunity. It has an impressive art collection, fine furniture and you get to see a good number of rooms (including the somewhat austere servants quarters in the basement) if you select their longer (90 minute) tour. Good value for money, especially if you have time to wander round the grounds. The large lake is beautiful with its mown surrounds, heronry, shell grotto and boat house. When we visited the water lilies were flowering in the lily pond and do make time to visit the mausoleum! No formal gardens as such although the capacious lawns were beautifully mown, the grounds neat and tidy, and there are a large number of majestic trees, all complementing the majesty of this hidden giant of a house. No cafe as such although vintage coffee and snack van parked outside, selling excellent coffee and tasty traybakes!
