点评:The Presidio began as a fortification built by the Spanish in 1776 to protect their territory of Alta California and San Francisco Bay. Later, it became a military post of the US Army beginning in 1848 when it was acquired from Mexico. Today, The Presidio is a beautiful park and recreation area. We hiked from the Golden Gate Welcome Center to Baker Beach along the Coastal Trail and the Batteries to Bluffs Trail. The trail is only mildly difficult and is 1.6 miles out and back. Along the way, there are spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the coastline of the Pacific Ocean and the Marin Headlands. The secluded Marshall's Beach and the sandy Baker Beach are both incredibly scenic, and I'm amazed by how much natural beauty can be found so close to an urban area. You can reach The Presidio by using public transportation as the #28 and #29 buses travel here and with some coordination, you can turn this into a one-way hike.
