点评：My girlfriend and I did a Cusco city tour where we visited Qorikancha, Qenqo, and Saqsayhuaman. Our guide was Oscar, who was incredible - easily the best guide we worked with during our entire time in Peru; he was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. Most important was his obvious passion about the subject matter and obsession with history and continuous learning. His enthusiasm was infectious and we were so sad to part ways after only 3-4 hours.
Oscar did an especially good job of highlighting salient examples of Inca-Spanish syncretism as well as the sophisticated and nuanced approach the Spanish took during their conquest of the Inca. We came away from the tour feeling like we had just left a lecture with our favorite university professor.
Shoutout our driver, Carlito, as well. He was professional, quick to smile, and navigated the chaotic and serpentine streets of Cusco with practiced ease, driving with a deft efficiency that can only be the result of many years behind the wheel.
