The best pineapples ever, grown with love

点评：There aren't enough wonderful things I can say about my visit to the Sugarloaf pineapple farm! The visit started with great communication and directions from Jude, the owner of the farm. She and her staff greeted us and showed us where to park, introduced themselves, and got us ready for a fun and delicious experience. We got to learn about the history of pineapple growing on Kauai, as well as the differences between Sugarloaf and other varieties of pineapples. Jake was our guide, and besides being a wealth of knowledge, he was an all-around great person to have leading our group. He kept everyone involved and entertained, was more than happy to answer any questions we had, and really developed a great rapport with everybody on the tour including the children. Even though I don't have kids on my own, it was nice to see kids treated as equals and given the same hands-on experience that the adults were able to enjoy. We each got to pick our own pineapple and plant one as well. Getting to taste the pineapples was worth the trip on its own. They're simply like nothing else you've ever had (sweet and soft like cotton candy, so tender you can eat the core as well, and without the acidity you normally associate with pineapple), and once you've tried a Sugarloaf, no other pineapple will do. You will definitely become a "pineapple snob" after coming here.
This isn't a huge commercially run operation. It's a small family business. You can tell that every single person you talk to puts a lot of love and dedication into making this place and its product the absolute best it can be. If I make it to Kauai again, another visit here is a must!
