点评：⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely breathtaking – a hidden gem in Benidorm!
What an incredible experience! Tossal de la Cala is easily one of the highlights of our trip to Benidorm. Perched 100 metres above sea level at the end of Poniente Beach, this ancient Roman fortress (castellum) offers some of the most stunning panoramic views along the entire Costa Blanca.
The climb up is a bit steep (definitely wear comfortable shoes!), but it’s totally worth every step. Once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with sweeping vistas over the Mediterranean Sea, the golden stretch of Poniente Beach, the Benidorm skyline, and all the way to Cala Finestrat. The site has been beautifully restored with clear information panels, making it fascinating to explore the remains of the 2nd–1st century BC Roman military settlement used during the Sertorian Wars.
There’s even a charming little hermitage (Ermita de la Virgen del Mar) that adds to the magical atmosphere. The whole area feels peaceful and well-maintained, with plenty of spots to sit and just soak it all in.
If you love a mix of history, archaeology, and jaw-dropping views, don’t miss this place. It’s free to visit and far less crowded than the beaches below – a perfect escape from the hustle of Benidorm while still being right in the heart of it.
