One of the Best Cheap Thrills in NYC! Love it.

点评：This is hands down one of my favorite NYC things ever. Visiting? Do it. Native? Do it? It’s relatively cheap, ridiculously scenic (riding up of down the East River —under the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge and Williamsburg Bridge, views of both the Manhattan East side/Empire State Building/Chrysler Tower and UN…so much more and—that;s my favorite, the Astoria Line (East 90’s street ferry landing) to Wall Street’s Pier 11 (and sometimes back up!). Download the NYC Ferry App, it will give you route maps, schedules, and you can buy tickets online. They are a little more than a subway fare but if you buy ten the price goes down and if you apply for the senior discount, it’s $1.49/trip. Ridiculous, right? I love it). At the end of a line, you must get off . You can board again with a new ticket. You can switch everywhere between routes for free otherwise (again, not the various routes to see where you want to go, from the Bronx to the Rockaway and now Staten Island from the west side. Ride up top (it gets windy and it’s noisy but fun) or inside for air conditioning and huge windows. And at the base of those back stairs, stand and stare at the huge wake and the city rolling away. Mesmerizing.
