More scenic than the subway and very cost effective

点评：After a long day of riding the subway and walking in New York City, it was pleasant to ride the Astoria ferry from the Wall Street terminal back to Roosevelt Island. Despite some unintentional misdirection to the ferry from a snack vendor, we eventually found the ferry terminal. The Wall Street terminal was very small, especially when compared to the Staten Island ferry terminal that we had visited previously, but the staff at the terminal were very helpful as we purchased our tickets. Because we arrived early, there was shady seating outside at the ferry berth but it was limited. Late arrivals had to wait inside the terminal or in the sun. The boarding process was well-organized and the video screen inside the main cabin displayed upcoming stops. As my husband and I both are required to limit sun exposure we did not take advantage of the upper deck which had no cover. The ride itself was pleasant, very cost effective (the same as a subway fare), and I look forward to experiencing some of the other ferry rides when we return to New York City.
