点评:My husband and I arrived just before sunset on a Monday evening in February. Not a soul around. We saw the carpark but it was gated off. We figured it was just closed since there aren’t too many people visiting a beach in February. If it had been open, we would have willingly paid the €5. The adjacent caravan park was also closed. We parked along the driveway (I will admit there were no parking signs everywhere.) Our car was not in any way blocking anyone who might venture by but again, there wasn’t a soul around. We walked up the hill, following the signs and noting that we had to be “respectful” as we were going to be crossing a field of a “live” farm. We weren’t even half way up the hill when this older man came speeding around the corner of the house at the top of the hill in his car, yelling at us and asking if that was our car. Yes of course, I replied as there WASN’T ANOTHER SOUL around. He began hollering about where we parked and did we not see the No Parking signs?? I said we did see them but the carpark is closed and could he please direct us to where we can park? He began ridiculing us and was being foul and the most unpleasant individual I’ve ever met. He said you can’t park anywhere bc the carpark is closed. I asked him if he was trying to keep us from visiting a public beach and he balked and asked me if I actually thought it was a public beach. And this point, we decided we didn’t have to take verbal abuse from this unknown person. I asked him what his job title was, asked him his name, and he just laughed at me. It was a horrific experience. I’m sorry we never made it to the beach but having grown up in Ireland every summer, I knew firsthand of plenty of other beaches to visit. It’s unfortunate that this man has ruined so many peoples’ experiences. I am sure he doesn’t want visitors so all of these complaints serve to make him happy.
