点评:I live close to here and have grown up enjoying the space.
Having moved South, I thought I would re-explore a familiar and well loved location.
What a mess. I don't know if it's just the first weekend of the new year, or this is a new normal, but there was no parking at all - it was only 9.30am. Constant flow of cars making it difficult to enter and leave. Huge 4x4s that these little villages just cant cope with. Dog bins all full and non-stop dogs - even little Dachshunds, who - sorry, should be at a park, not on a hike - their backs break so easily.
This used to be a nice spot, but I feel with the access to walking maps online, people are travelling further and further, most folk will prob only be there for a hour and then leave. Everyone local I know will spend all day trekking round.
As mentioned elsewhere, the cyclists are not sticking to designated cycle paths, some got very close to a buggy that it was quite rude and not needed.
There is a new entitled feeling im observing with new folk who have found the outdoors. Im all for people getting involved with nature and spending time outside. However these new people tend to have a lot of money and fancy cars, that scruffy me and my 09' van just dont coincide with.
Did you really want to go for a walk? - or did you just want to drag people in your big car 45mins away just for your own ego?
