点评:I almost want to gatekeep, because it's such a great hidden gem. But I may never be back in iceland, so here it is.
It's actually very similar to nearby Gljúfrabúi, which is 600 m from Seljalandsfoss which everyone goes to, but better. Like Gljúfrabúi, it's in a canyon that you have traverse by stepping on stones and hoisting yourself up rocks, and getting rewarded by a beautiful waterfall in a canyon. Except with Nauthusagil, there is a longer walk, more rocks, more need to keep your balance, the rocks require chains, and more need for waterproof hiking boots. Nothing insurmountable, just a little more adventureous. But best of all, the crowds are gone. Because of Gljúfrabúi's location, we saw the 1 hour line and just said "nope."
Instead we drove here. parking was free, and barely anyone there. It's only 10 Km past the Seljalandsfoss/Gljúfrabúi complex. Technically it becomes an F road when the paved road ends, but this stretch is no big deal for any car.
