点评：Golden Temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib. Always dreamed of visiting here. Finally had the opportunity to visit twice.
Ambience: Prayful atmosphere. Calm serene.
How to reach: Amritsar airport is at a distance of 30mins travel time.
Amritsar railway station at a distance of 15 mins.
Once you reach either the station or the airport. Take a taxi to reach your hotel. The streets around the Golden Temple are narrow so big vehicles will be difficult. However, smaller vehicles should not be an issue.
People of all religions are warmly welcomed.
The sooner you go to visit the Golden Temple the better. Rest of the time it is crowded. Make sure to cover your head for both men n women. Footwear is not allowed inside. It can be kept at the shoe counter n you get a token number. Do not sit with your back facing the Golden Temple. The Langar is free. You put in the collection box any amount you want. Its out of your own free will. Not a compulsion.
The main Temple is closed at night. However you can sit in the premises n enjoy the peace while watching the reflection of the well lit Temple in the water.
Anybody who wants to do any service needs to get in touch with the office.
There are many stay options. Lots of hotels around. Also there are rooms of the Golden Temple which can be booked online in advance.
There are many restaurants nearby. Please try paratha. Also try their Lassi. Withing the proximity of the Temple there are many rickshaws that will take you around for a minimal amount.
Jalianwala Baug is at a walking distance.
