点评:John is a highly professional, knowledgeable, and talented guide who helps you up your photo game both technically and artistically – regardless of your prior experience or personal goals. He’s fundamentally a good and patient teacher who has a knack for communicating concepts in a way that you can understand and apply. If you look at his work online or at his gallery, it will also be obvious that he’s a world-class photographer in his own right.
I took one group tour with John and recently hired him for a half-day in Acadia National Park. Both were extremely helpful to me, in part because he sees the technical aspects (cameras, lenses, exposure settings, workflow, etc.) as important but not as much as processing scenes creatively. In other words, he doesn’t get dogmatic about technique and instead offers common sense advice for how to go about getting a good image with whatever gear you bring. That approach can stand in contrast to some photo guides who make it seem like it takes a Nikon and a prime lens to create a worthwhile photo.
If you take a tour from John, you can be sure that it’s well-run from start to finish. It must be high end because I was the only first-timer on the tour. The others had gone with him far and wide for years.

如果你参加约翰带领的摄影之旅,可以放心,整个行程一定会安排得井然有序。这次行程肯定属于高端级别,因为我是唯一一个第一次参加的人;其他人都已经跟随他四处采风多年了。
