Incredible Safari trip in Northern Tanzania

点评：We (a family of five Safari newbies) have had an incredible Safari trip in Tanzania with Furahia, following Hemingway's tracks in bush camps located in or around magical places such as Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Natron and the Serengeti....
We were lucky to be accompanied by Priscus, who was an outstanding, reliable and highly professional Furahia guide. Priscus is a very kind and patient man, who generously shared his wealth of knowledge, his year-long experience and his daily wit with us. He not only showed us the parks (which he knows completely by heart by the way), but had us also visit a Maasai community, explained all sorts of biological and geological facts, introduced us to regional culinary specialties and did also not forget the high-quality shopping opportunities… Priscus especially also made the impossible possible (thanks for sending that package with our forgotten and precious item through half the country to Zanzibar…!).
During our safari, we saw myriads of wild animals: small mammals, monkeys, ungulates, predators, scavengers and birds from far away but also (very) close-by. Our children loved when Priscus imitated the sounds of specific species or when he once engaged in a hilarious head-bobbing contest with a Vervet Monkey, who was avid to steal some of our food…
We also spent an afternoon with a kind and smart Maasai guide in the Lake Natron area, where we explored a narrow river gorge, saw the pre-historic Engaresero human footprints and the flocks of flamingos by the Lake. Amongst others our guide also explained the Maasai rite of passage for young men (which involves a male lion and which Theodore Roosevelt would have appreciated…).
We experienced the African night out in the bush, with its strange and intimidating cacophony of sounds. We heard lions moaning nearby (luckily they were apparently not related to the Man-eaters of Tsavo), impala and topi antelopes roaming around our tents, hyenas laughing not far away, and of course all those incredible bird sounds…
Unfortunately, we did not see any Kudu antelopes, Leopards nor Honey Badgers. Here’s to a good reason to come back! Thank you Priscus and Furahia (and Toyota)!

在游猎期间，我们看到了数不胜数的野生动物：各种小型哺乳动物、猴子、有蹄类动物、食肉动物、食腐动物，还有远在天边却又近在咫尺的各类鸟类。我们的孩子们特别喜欢看普里斯库斯模仿各种动物的叫声；有一次，他还和一只急着想偷走我们食物的长尾猴展开了一场搞笑的摇头比赛……
我们还在纳特龙湖地区与一位友善又聪明的马赛族向导共度了一个下午。我们游览了狭窄的河谷，看到了史前时期恩加雷塞罗人类留下的足迹，还观赏到了湖边成群结队的火烈鸟。我们的向导还向我们介绍了马赛人针对年轻男子的成人仪式（这一仪式与雄狮有关，西奥多·罗斯福肯定会欣赏这种仪式……）。
我们在荒野中体验了非洲的夜晚，周围充斥着种种怪异又令人心惊的声音。我们听到附近有狮子在低吼（幸好它们显然与察沃食人狮无关）；黑斑羚和托皮羚羊在帐篷周围闲逛，不远处还有鬣狗在嗤笑。当然，还有那些美妙绝伦的鸟鸣声……
遗憾的是，我们并没有看到任何狷羚、豹子或蜜獾。这倒是个值得再来的好理由！感谢Priscus和Furahia（还有丰田）！
