点评:My family and I love aquaria and have been to many throughout the U.S. This one is among best the for diversity of experiences and living things. There are three different buildings, each with its own focus. The ticket price expensive ($50 for a standard adult admission,) so that can be cost-prohibitive. We generally plan our trips with a priority on nature experiences and we believe in the mission of AZA accredited zoos and aquaria, so the ticket price makes sense for us. Their exhibits offer access at many points- for a casual visitor to a nerdy biology teacher like me. The parts that I found most interesting were the animal care exhibits, which show everything from how the keepers hatch and raise invertebrates like anenomes and sea jellies to how they grow algae for feeding the other species. They also have an area that explains how they maintain their aquatic environments with a system that mimics nature. Finally, as a midwesterner, I have never seen a salmon ladder before, so I was amazed to see one integrated into the aquarium. I would love to return sometime Bree din during breeding season to see it in action. The focus generally seems to be on Pacific Northwest species and ecosystems, which I prefer because it is very place-based and relevant to the local environment. Their "touch tanks' are larger and more diverse than any I'd previously encountered. You can touch two types of anenomes, sea stars, urchins, sea cucumbers, and more. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The only recommendation I'd make for them is to have more multilingual exhibits or access points. We were there during the FIFA World Cup and the absence of multilingual signage was an obvious difference from other aquaria in world class cities.
