Quiet, relaxing, great views
Big Bay State Park的点评
点评：Weather in September was perfect here - low 70's during the day and low 50's at night. No bugs. Stayed in our travel trailer at the campground. No views or cell phone signal in the campground but otherwise it's a pretty typical Wisconsin-state-park campground. High marks for quiet (at least in Sept), magnificent night skies, and generally clean bathrooms (pit and flush). The Bay View trail offer spectacular views of the lake and bay and is a easy hike with close access from the campground. We had dogs so the boardwalk was off limits to us. Most hikers on this trail were drive in for the afternoon type folks. The Lagoon Ridge trail was through boreal forest with not much for views and minimal trail improvements. Warning for black bears on the Lagoon Ridge trail so we were cautious on time of day hiking there but we never saw any. Ferry ride to the Madeline Island is not inexpensive (about $100 each way with truck and trailer) but more importantly for us, time consuming (more than an hour each way mainly waiting) that chewed in to our travel day. Overall a great experience and for us we will go back once every few years in the fall.
