Long single rail alpine coaster with amusing theming along the route - one of the best of its type

点评：I rode the Fisser Flitzer as part of a large group of roller coaster enthusiasts touring parks around Austria and Switzerland. The Flitzer is a single rail alpine coaster made by Brandauer (the third of this type I had ridden) and is one of the longer examples of its type, with a total length of over 7000ft (about one and a third miles).
Access to the ride is via cablecar that takes you up to Sommer-Funpark Fiss from where you board the kart. The individual rider cars slot onto the tracks (so they cannot come off) and riders control the speed of the karts along the track, with a brake lever to push forward to release or pull back to brake. The top speed of these rides is approximately 25mph, and centrifugal brakes prevent higher speeds for safety reasons.
This is the first alpine coaster I have seen with theming as you go down, with a variety of tunnels that feature animals and amusing theming, there are also wild animal models and even a dinosaur...of course if travelling at full speed you will miss much of the smaller details...I only spotted it when I reviewed my GoPro footage after getting home.
It's a thrilling experience, especially at full speed, although it does throw you around a little on some bends and it also includes a few sharp drops and turns so many riders will use the brakes. Be careful not to brake too much as this stops the progress of riders behind you. The operators allow a safe distance between riders but slower riders can ruin the experience of those wishing to go full speed...if there are slower riders ahead of you in the queue try to allow a little extra gap before you start off at the top.
Overall a real thrill if you are lucky to have a clear ride free of slower riders.
