点评：The Chicago Children’s Museum offers a fun, engaging experience for kids, with enough variety to keep them entertained for a few hours without feeling overwhelmed. For families visiting Navy Pier, it’s a strong choice—just be prepared for some logistical quirks.
Tickets for non‑residents are $25 each, which is fairly typical for Chicago attractions. Parking, however, is where things get tricky. Parking was chaotic on our Saturday morning visit, and the process itself can be confusing. Bring the parking ticket with you to validate at the museum for a percentage off, pay for it on the ground floor at one of the kiosks before leaving, and finally scan the paid ticket again when exiting the garage with your car so the gate opens. I’m guessing the system is meant to speed up the exit, but in practice it feels a bit unintuitive.
Inside the museum, the exhibits are creative and hands‑on, giving kids plenty to explore. That said, don’t expect this to be an all‑day destination. Two to three hours is the perfect amount of time to see everything without rushing. Depending on your child’s interests, they may latch onto one exhibit and spend most of their time there, which is part of the charm.
For lunch, we grabbed food from restaurants on Navy Pier, which were extremely busy, loud (karaoke day), and on the expensive side. Still, if you plan to spend the rest of your day exploring the Pier, the discounted parking from the museum makes it convenient to stay longer.
