点评：Cabot Discovery Tours Mini Cabot Trail tour was a great way to see some highlights of Cape Breton Highlands National Park of Canada and the Cabot Trail in one cruise ship port day. Their website information was excellent, email correspondence was helpful and timely, and advance payment via credit card went smoothly. Pick up at the port went smoothly, the van was comfortable with a good sound system, and maps were provided. Our tour guide/driver Brian was knowledgeable, interesting, enthusiastic, and considerate, and worked hard to give us lots of information and to adjust the itinerary to accommodate the crowds, weather and our interests. We enjoyed all of the stops, including the look-offs, the Englishtown Ferry Landing with Brian‘s talk on mackerel fishing, the Clucking Hen Café and Bakery for delicious carryout sandwiches and pastries, the Little River Wharf on the North Shore with Brian’s talk on lobster fishing, and the picnic lunch on Ingonish Beach, and the driving tour through the town of Sydney and the Membertou Mi’k Maq reservation.
We were informed in advance that there would be about five hours of driving time for the round trip from Sydney to Ingonish and we wouldn’t have time for long hikes, or for taking the High Flyer Gondola tour at the ski resort, but we did have time outside of the van to walk and explore during this small group tour. Brian returned us safely to the cruise terminal so that we had plenty of time to visit the shops and the Big Fiddle.
I recommend the Mini-Cabot Trail Discovery Tour with Cabot Discovery Tours to experience the Cabot Trail Scenic Loop through Cape Breton Highlands National Park of Canada, and to visit more attractions with a smaller group than the ship’s shore excursions.
