Very cool to have ruins to yourself !

点评：Google maps/Google reviews says this place is permanently closed – it is not, I was there today.
It is at the end of the main strip along the beach in Oricum IN the military base. But there’s a big sign talking about the archaeological site. There is a guy who can take you in. It is 3 euros per person- you do need to bring your ID (driving license or passport ) for each person since it is a military base AND it is working miles inside the base so you do have to drive. The guy will sell you the tickets, show your ID to a military guy on the other side, then open the gates. He drives his car and lead a few miles into the site. Then he tell me that it was OK to take pictures and take our time there.
We spent about an hour and a half. Maybe if you were from Rome or Athens these are not special ruins. But to me, they’re all incredibly cool. We also went to Apolonia and butrint, and of course, those are more elaborate. Those also have a high ticket price and crowded.
We were literally the only people here. which makes it quite special. They do have placards with explanations about things. It seems like a lot of sites do their best to uncover the ruins and make them accessible – but they don’t have millions of dollars to throw out these projects.
There’s not a whole lot to do but aside from lounging on the beach, so this is definitely worth a few hours.
