Relaxing afternoon in the sun

点评：For our granddaughter’s fourth birthday, we took her and her parents out for the afternoon on ‘Kerridge’. Were impressed by the comprehensive instructions and ready answers to our questions provided as well as the obvious attention paid to detail e.g. milk in the fridge, ice cubes etc.
Our daughter’s partner who has served as a naval officer (and so knows what he’s talking about) thought the vessel to be very responsive and a doddle to steer. We all took our turn and enjoyed the challenge of holding the correct line. (You certainly don’t need to have been in the navy though!) Seeing a kingfisher and a heron (close to) were lovely.
On the return leg of our trip, we moored next to the towpath and enjoyed a memorable picnic. This did mean that we returned a few minutes late, but this didn’t seem to faze anyone; indeed, everyone we encountered from Bollington Boats was unfailingly friendly and helpful. Would recommend the experience.
