点评：I have been going into the Rehder Pocosin for 16 years, mid-April to early June. They have been my favorite photo safaris...until last year. Something happened and I cannot find anyone in city parks and recreation with an explanation. The pitcher plants are stunted with almost no blooms. I estimate the number to be only a third of what was there in 2024. When I visited in mid-April 2026, it looked like someone had clear cut the entire bog down to a couple inches. Today I found about a dozen severely stunted fly traps. Normally their flowers would be blooming now, but there are only small unopened flowers...and the fly traps are almost too small to see.

Normally there would be dozens of purple orchids blooming. I found one today.

We have a local drought but the pocosin is bone dry, much worse than it should be even in a drought.

I have a wonderful collection of images from 2010 through 2024. The past two years' images are not even worth including. Sad.
