点评:Michael Rubel was a merchant marine, an artist, a visionary and a lifelong tinkerer of machines. But what he was best at was keeping his 12-year-old self alive until the day he died. We had the pleasure of visiting the Rubel Castle last weekend and to our surprise - Scott Rubel (his nephew) was our tour guide. His tour were truly a joy and listening to his family history and stories made the 2 hour Sunday morning tour fly by. There is so much to see that its a bit overwhelming, so its best just to strap in and take it all in one step at a time. Highlights include a converted Railrolad car, barns full of priceless vehicles, secret refridgerator rooms and a hidden print press inside the castle walls. The tour leaves you with the belief that anyone with a dream can build something special, with the help of friends and family. I hope the Glendora Historical society continues to preserve this landmark and if you are in So Cal, its worth the effort to book ahead.
