Brewery Visit: A Chilly Disappointment in Flavour and Service

点评：I decided to check out a local brewery to try some of their beers, so I ordered a flight of a hazy IPA, a hazy pale ale, and a bitter. Right off the bat, I was let down to find out they were all on keg, with no cask options. The beers were served super cold, which really masked the flavours I was hoping to taste. It's frustrating because beer shouldn't just be frozen for the sake of it; chilling it this much masks the taste and can even mask any bad notes. I’m not saying the beers were sour, but the bitterness that should’ve popped was barely there. It was tough to figure out what the flavours were with everything so cold, and that chill haze stuck around while I was in the tasting room. Plus, none of the beers had a nice foamy head or lacing, which was a bit underwhelming.
There were a bunch of canned and bottled options available to buy, but after my flight experience, I passed on them. I was also shocked by the price—over £9 for that flight, which is just one pint!
I stuck around for 15 to 20 minutes, and during that time, only one other person came in for a pint, so there was plenty of space to sit. The server behind the bar didn’t seem too interested. She just pointed me to the chalkboard with the options and was more focused on her phone than helping customers, which made the whole experience feel even less inviting.
