Hoofdstation Groningen的点评
点评：The main station in Groningen is a very grand affair. I last visited the town over 10 years ago travelling from Hamburg to Amsterdam. Since then the station has been transformed with the layout.
The station is served by NS services who will take you South to Zwolle and beyond. These trains use platforms 4-6 and they have barriers to pass through to get to the platforms. Arriva Trains serve the branch lines in the local area and these use platforms 1-3. There are escalators, stairs and lifts to get to the platforms.
In spite of the modern updates to the station they have kept the original building which is over 100 years old and still looks magnificent! It is immortalised in miniature at Madurodam in the Hague which I would recommend a visit to.
The station is on the edge of the city centre and not far from the Groniger Museum which is just across the water. There are plenty of places to park your bike or hire one if you do not own one.
