A dreadful Christmas meal
South Winchester Golf Club的点评
点评：We visited in December as an end of season event to be followed by a Christmas meal.
The course was in excellent condition for the time of year and unlike many nearby clubs, buggies were still available in spite of the weather.
We were given a very good breakfast and were anticipating a quality Christmas meal. But, what a disaster that was. In forty years of visiting golf clubs I have only once ever encountered a worse meal. The turkey dinner consisted of a factory produced turkey roll which was pretty tasteless and was accompanied by grossly over cooked potatoes and carrots and undercooked parsnips - and nothing else. No brussels, no red cabbage, no peas - nothing which makes up a traditional Christmas dinner. Thankfully I am not vegetarian as when that meal finally turned up it looked and tasted even worse.
It was a great pity as I was hoping that we could use South Winchester for future end of season Christmas events but I cannot see my friends wanting to return there.
