点评：If you're visiting Powell River and considering a fishing charter, book with Dave at Undercover Sport Fishing. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to ocean salmon fishing.
I booked at the last minute, and Dave was kind enough to fit me into his schedule. As someone with no previous ocean fishing experience, I appreciated how patient and encouraging he was. He explained everything clearly, from the gear and techniques to what the fish were doing and why we were moving between locations. I never felt overwhelmed and was catching salmon before long.
What really impressed me was how dedicated Dave was to finding fish. He was constantly reading the tides, watching his sonar, and adjusting our location to give us the best opportunity. Of course, no guide can guarantee a catch, but it was obvious Dave was doing everything he could to make the day a success. I ended up catching several salmon, keeping a beautiful Chinook and Coho, while releasing the others.
The experience was about much more than fishing. Dave pointed out two humpback whales breaching nearby, making an already incredible day even more memorable.
His boat was comfortable, the conversation was easy, and throughout the trip he emphasized boating safety, which gave me a lot of confidence. As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe, relaxed, and well looked after from start to finish.
At the end of the day, Dave cleaned, expertly filleted, and packaged my fish so it was ready to travel home with me. I'll be enjoying fresh salmon for days and remembering what an amazing day it was every time I do.
Whether you're an experienced angler or trying ocean fishing for the first time, I can't recommend Dave highly enough. He's knowledgeable, professional, works incredibly hard, and genuinely wants his guests to have a great experience. I'll absolutely be booking with him again the next time I'm in Powell River.
