点评:The highlight of a recent trip to Rome
was actually getting out of Rome and
traveling an easy 40 minutes north by
train to the Sabine Hills where we were
met by Guido and Sally owners of
Convívio Rome for a full day of
sightseeing and cooking. The sights
included a visit to a medieval hilltop
village with amazing views of the
surrounding countryside covered with
olive groves; and, a tour of a still active
monastery that at one time was one of
the most powerful in Europe! In
between the tours Guido showed off his skills as a chef and a teacher as he guided us through the preparation of a
three-course meal of homemade
pasta with sausage, a delicious veal
main course and a riccota- cherry-
chocolate tarte for dessert. The meal is
prepared in Guido and Sally's spacious
kitchen and eaten on their terrace with
a view at which you can't stop looking.
Sally does an excellent job of
communicating all pertinent
information including how to leave and
return to Rome by train. They are
gracious hosts and offer an excellent
experience that we enjoyed immensely!
