点评：My wife and I had planned to visit Namibia a few years ago, but Covid got in the way. We finally got to do it in 2024. She had found Mannor Safaris online, and I worked with Theo, the owner, via email and WhatsApp to settle on specific dates and itinerary details for the Taste of Namibia tour. When we arrived at the Windhoek airport, we expected to be met by a guide, but it was Theo himself. The guy who was supposed to be our guide had broken his leg, and so Theo was our driver/guide for the week! Our tour included the drive to the Sossusvlei area (with stops at Rehoboth, Spreetshoogte Pass and Solitaire), Deadvlei, hiking up Big Daddy dune and Dune 45, a stop at Sesriem Canyon, a sunset drive on the petrified dunes near our lodge, then a drive passing through Namib-Naukluft National Park on the way to Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, a morning Living Desert tour, an afternoon Sandwich Bay 4x4 dune tour, a drive to Etosha National Park, with an afternoon safari, and a full-day safari in the park, and finally, the drive back to Windhoek. Theo was happy to stop for us to take pictures during the drives.
Many of the meals were included. For those, we met with Theo. A couple dinners (at Swakopmund) were not included, and we enjoyed local restaurants on our own for those. The lodgings were very good; not fancy, but nice.
Our time with Theo was wonderful. The scenery and wildlife were great, and it was good talking with Theo. We enjoyed learning about Namibia and its history, and appreciated getting his sensible perspectives on various issues.
Finally, when we were about to depart, we found out that our flight from Cape Town to Washington was cancelled due to expected severe weather. Theo phoned a contact in Cape Town who was able to take us on a day tour of Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope on our extra day there.
We had a wonderful time, and highly recommend Mannor Safaris Namibia.
