点评：Our experience of this trip was a bit of a mixed bag. First the positives! We prebooked the trip with Viaggi Tomasucci in Stresa and that was an excellent idea. I believe you can book all the different parts individually but it was just wonderful having all the tickets and reservations in one place and the day went like clockwork. The scenery throughout is beautiful of course. We liked Domodossola and felt we had enough time there to get a feel of the place. It was market day and very busy. The Centovalli train is cute and comfortable and we were lucky to have window seats. I think we were a little disappointed as the views were not as stunning as we had hoped (having done the Bernina Express) and a lot of the time is spent in tunnels or looking at trees. We were also a little disappointed in Locarno which is not as attractive as some of the other lakeside towns including Stresa where we were based. We had a great lunch though and then boarded the ferry to return home. The ferry was crowded and it was a very hot day. I think we made a mistake sitting outside as I spent the three hour journey baking in the sun and, to be honest, it was a long three hours! The scenery is beautiful but it does all start to blend after a while and I ended up feeling uncomfortable and bored. We were very relieved when the boat got to Intra-Verbania and the final leg of the journey. I'm glad we did it but I wouldn't do it again.
