点评:Did the 3 day unguided walk with Wilsons awesome tourguide - a barefooted Rob who was superman in handling all bags, bus & boat transfers, met us at the lodges & served drinks and food! Day 1 was the boat trip to the northern point at Totaranui & a not too difficult 9km walk to the 1st lodge at Awaroa. Both lodges are full of character & history. Bedrooms all have ensuites but be warned hot water due to solar / battery generation is only available from 4pm-7pm & early morning. the tour includes food which is 5 star dining but drinks have to be paid for. Bring aqua shoes for the tidal crossing as it does get muddy. Also insect repellent as the sandflies are everywhere! Day 2 is the killer with a 17km walk over 7 hills with 3 steep climbs! Day 3 is a welcome sedate 13km with 1 hill and then homeward bound to Marahau where Rob greets you & the bus back to Motueka. We were fortunate to have sunny weather throughout but can imagine that rain would make some of the walking quite tough, especially going down hill. Walking poles are a godsend & take a Camelbak with water bladder. you will need a lot of water. Conclusion - a very well run & expertly catered experience.
