My answer? If you have any experience riding a twist-and-go scooter or a semi-automatic motorbike, then yes, you should absolutely rent a bike when you’re in Siem Reap.
For the week we were here, I rented a semi automatic Honda Dream ($10/day) motorbike, and my friend rented a twist and go Honda Scooter ($10/day.) The motorbikes were absolutely the way to get around Siem Reap and the Angkor Wat area. They gave us so much freedom and efficiency to see so much more in much less time.
But on top of that, they greatly enhanced our experience being here. Zipping around on a scooter in the flow of traffic in Siem Reap or up in the Angkor park was absolutely wonderful.
The bikes ran great. We had so much fun. And the people at Siem Reap Scooter Rental were proactive in the way they took care of every one of our needs. I cannot recommend the experience, or this company, any more highly.
