One of Those Places You Have to Experience in Person
Grand Canyon National Park的点评
点评：The Grand Canyon was one of the highlights of our family RV trip through the Southwest. Pictures simply don’t prepare you for the scale of this place. Standing at the rim, the canyon is so enormous that at times it almost looks unreal.
We stayed at Trailer Village, which I highly recommend for anyone visiting by RV. Having full hookups inside the park and being able to leave the RV at the campground and use the shuttle system made exploring incredibly convenient.
We tried to experience the canyon in several different ways. Our Canyon Vistas Mule Ride was a great family activity and gave us beautiful views from along the rim. The wranglers were excellent, and riding through the forest before reaching the canyon overlooks made for a memorable experience.
The following day we hiked the Bright Angel Trail, which gave us a completely different appreciation for the canyon. Looking down from the rim is impressive, but actually descending into it changes your understanding of its size. Just remember that the easy part is going down—the climb back out is the real hike!
We also spent time exploring the viewpoints and made sure to experience sunset along the South Rim. Watching the colors and shadows change across the canyon as the sun went down was spectacular and something I would absolutely recommend building into any visit.
For an easy family meal, we ate at Harvey House Cafe in Grand Canyon Village. Everyone found something they liked, the prices were reasonable for a national park, and my French Dip was good, although not exceptional. We’d eat there again.
Overall, I loved that our visit wasn’t simply driving from overlook to overlook. We rode mules along the rim, hiked below it, watched the sunset over it and camped right inside the park. That combination made the Grand Canyon feel like an experience rather than just another sightseeing stop.
Absolutely deserving of its reputation and a place everyone should experience at least once.

为了享受一顿轻松的家庭晚餐，我们在大峡谷村的哈维之家咖啡馆用餐。每个人都找到了自己喜欢的东西，对于一个国家公园来说价格也算合理。我的法式蘸酱三明治味道不错，虽然算不上出色。我们以后还会再来这里用餐。
