点评：I considered using Welcome Pickups but after looking at their negative Trip Advisor reviews, I decided to book with Athens Taxi Wagon (ATW) instead. I’m so happy that I did. Alexis, the owner, is an engaging and well-spoken gentleman. I booked directly with ATW, going to their website and then sending an email for 2 pickups, the first at Piraeus Cruise Terminal to a hotel in Athens and the second from our Athens hotel to the airport. Alexis emailed me back with pricing and then sent me 2 Google calendars with all the details.
When our cruise ship docked at Piraeus, I notified Alexis by email that the terminal had changed, and he quickly confirmed the change. We communicated via WhatsApp when it was time for the pickup. We had a delightful conversation with Alexis, and we laughed at his nickname for our current president – “the orange guy”. He said he would send me a link to his recommended list of Athens restaurants. We were so grateful for the list and ate at 4 of the restaurants he recommended. When he picked us up a few days later to take us to the airport, we commented on the restaurants we ate at and thanked him for his recommendations.
Overall, I was pleased with everything at ATW - the booking process, communicating via WhatsApp with Alexis, and especially the engaging conversations with Alexis and the information he shared about Athen’s history, culture and food. Delightful!
