A good park that's starting to look rundown
Northumberland Park的点评
点评：Northumberland Park was part of my growing up and is a very popular park for people in North Shields and Tynemouth. The pets cemetery, the tombs, the duck pond and the bowling green are still worth visiting, and the money from the National Lottery was well spent upgrading Norhumberland Park in the 2010s. Also the lodge like cafe remains a fairly cheap and pleasant addition to the park.
However, since my last visit just after the park was improved, Northumberland Park seems to be going backwards. I can remember how rundown and vandalised it became in the late seventies and early eighties, and sadly parts of it are going the same way. The area around the duckpond and the paths are becoming overgrown and neglected and it is spoiling what is a fine park. I would hope the council looks into this as it's making this well loved park look bad.
