Great morning trip on Loch Ness to Urquart Castle and back.

点评：A two hour cruise on the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. We only booked on-line the day before and were very surprised to still get on board. The staff at both the boarding and on the boat itself were helpful and friendly. Especially enjoyed to commentary as we travelled down the loch.
There was quite a que arrived. However there is a good restaurant on the site at Dochgarroch, with snacks and hot or cold drinks available as you wait. Even with the que, boarding was swift.
The two hour round trip to Urquart Castle and back, starting at Dochgarroch Lock on the Caledonian Canal, passed quickly, with so much to see and listen to.
First you travel down a short distance on the Caledonian Canal before opening up into Loch Ness itself. You are then met with stunning views of the Great Glen, highlands and Aldourie Castle. The highlight is the approach to Urquart Castle standing on the shore of the loch.
The crew on board were friendly and the commentary by the captain is both informative and witty at times, he had a subtle sense of humor and not all his jokes got the deserved laughter form some of the passengers. There was a great deal of information on the history of Loch Ness and the castles. As well as the mystery of the monster, on this tow hour trip you’ll learn the fascinating story and history of Loch Ness.
On arriving at Urquart Castle most of the passengers left the cruise, we picked up a bunch of American ladies for the return trip. As usual too much to drink and loud and proud as they say on the way back. Not as serene as our outward trip.
On our return we had lunch at the restaurant and spent sometime with the Highland Cows near the car park.
Definitely recommend this cruise if you are in the Inverness area, it's a great way to see the Great Glen, Loch Ness and Urquart Castle and more.
