点评:Paper trail maps in the carpark but we had also downloaded the maps from the website for backup. The first walk north from the free carpark was mostly shaded within trees, which was ideal as the temperature was over 30°C. There were three points that looked out onto the Myakka river which is lovely. At the second we spotted a Cottonmouth snake about 3' long on a rock near the water's edge. It is a semi-aquatic pit viper also known a water moccasin snake. Also across a Gopher tortoise strolling along. There are numbered posts along the route to provide reassurance that are on the right track. It took us about 40mins taking it steady. It was less than a mile. The walk beginning across the road from the parking looked a bit longer but we found it boggy in places and didn't have hiking boots so quit after half a mile. In any case it was getting too hot by then.
