点评：I booked a sunset speedboat tour through Visa Travel. The meeting point was McDonald’s in Phi Phi, which was extremely busy and felt a bit disorganised. After gathering, we walked about 10 minutes to the boat. Before boarding, everyone had to remove their shoes and have their feet washed to avoid bringing sand and dirt onboard. The speedboat itself was completely full, and there wasn’t much space to relax compared to other boat trips I’ve done.
The staff, however, were excellent. They spoke very good English, were friendly, and seemed well organised. They get a full 5 out of 5 from me.
My lower overall score is mainly because I wasn’t entirely sure what I was booking. The itinerary information was vague, and we ended up snorkelling twice, which felt too long for my preference. The snorkelling equipment also wasn’t great — the masks didn’t seal properly, and I’ve had much better equipment on other tours.
I also didn’t feel confident about the safety arrangements on the boat. There was no safety briefing, no information about life jackets, and no check on whether guests could swim before entering the water.
I had been looking forward to visiting Maya Bay, and although I’m glad I’ve seen it, I wouldn’t recommend it. It was extremely crowded and not an enjoyable place to spend time. We stayed too long, the toilets were in terrible condition, and waiting on the blue floating platform for 15 minutes while it lurched around in the water was unpleasant.
Monkey Bay was okay, though there was some rubbish around. Viking Cave wasn’t particularly impressive, and you don’t get off the boat there.
I did not do the bioluminescence swim because I was too cold and tired. I did wonder if staff were trained in life saving in the water.
I would not recommend this tour, I think I would have preferred to book a private longtail boat to Maya Bay and monkey bay for a shorter trip.
