A truly magical place!
Maerim Elephant Sanctuary的点评
点评：A truly magical experience. The elephants are just so beautiful. Also, and most importantly, the elephants are happy. We saw no signs of distress, no chains, no ropes, and absolutely no horrific elephant riding, dancing, forced treatments or activities. These elephants are treated as they should be, like royalty. We got to feed them, go for a walk with them, learn how to chop down banana trees for them, and swim with them. The caretakers are staff are very kind to the elephants, even when they are naughty. There is no poking, no prodding, no aggressive behaviour. This truly is a sanctuary. We also had the pleasure of seeing Tim, our tour guide, again, as this was our second time visitng the sancturay. He is an absolute joy to chat with and he is a wealth of knowledge. We always learn a lot from him. He is also very funny and has a very warm personality. The photographer we had was also amazing, as were the rest of the staff we encountered. Every single person was smiley and warm-hearted. All-round a 10/10 experience. Please don't go to places that allow you to ride the elephants, as sanctuary's like Maerim will need to save the elephants to heal their hearts and heal their bodies from the abuse they endure in those tourist traps. Please do visit sanctuary's like Maerim, as they need our help to fund the sanctuary so that they can keep saving these giant majestic creatures. Also, do the full-day tour. It is so worth it, and you get to swim in the lovely pool afterwards, which, with the heat in Chiang Mai, is truly appreciated. We love you, Maerim Elephant Sancturay!
