点评:We spotted the sign for this as we were heading from Queenstown towards Glenorchy and thought we would give a try and are so glad we did. It's a lovely and entertaining garden with beautiful planting enhanced by a variety of artworks. One of the first things you become aware of is that it straddles the 45th Parallel meaning it's (theoretically at least) midway between the equator and the pole. A map of the equivalent in the northern hemisphere showed that it was the south of France, which wasn't what we had instinctively thought.
We were also able to tour the property which is worth doing if you can, some fantastic artwork and furniture in there. However, it is available as bed and breakfast so this will depend on occupancy at the time of your visit.
Some birds are also resident, various peacocks as well as some hens and food is available for you to feed them should you wish. You attract at least one of the pheasants by tapping on a gong (of sorts)!
Finally, if your nerves can stand it, climb the steps up the tree! It looks frail, mainly due to its design, but isn't in reality. It gives you a very different perspective on the garden.
If you're even considering looking in then do, you won't be disappointed.
