Visapur Fort - Excellent Family Picnic Spot
Visapur Fort的点评
点评：This is an excellent spot for family outing on weekend.
A) Route By Road
Reach Karla junction from Pune using old Pune Mumbai route. Take left turn at Karla junction, cross Malavali railway crossing, Bhaja village & come to the back side of Visapur Fort, couple of KM before Lohagadh fort. Take left turn & reach upto the foot hill of Visapur Fort.
This is the most easy trek of 10 to 20 minutes from foothill till entrance gate of Fort.
At the foothill there are few restaurants for snacks and food.
At the entry of Bhaja village, there is Toll Loot Maar Center, it will collect the toll from car & bikes.
The road after Bhaja cave is quite steep & with narrow turns on the mountain so expert car drivers only should plan for driving thru this route.
B) Route By Train
Reach by local train from Pune to Malavali. Many trek lovers walk from Malavali railway station to:
i) Lohagadh fort: It is long distance
ii) Visapur fort: It is also long distance
iii) Bhaja caves: It is at half distance of Lohagadh fort
Other option from Malavali railway station::
Auto will charge Rs.300 to 500 to Visapur fort.
C) Trek Routes
Three trek routes.
i) Easy trek of 10 to 20 minutes from back side of Visapur fort.
ii) Medium difficulty trek of 60 to 90 minutes from Patan village
iii) Medium difficulty trek of 60 to 90 minutes from Bhaja caves
We have used all the above trek routes.
Many of the trekkers lose the way on trek from Patan village as well as Bhaja caves.
In the month of August 2022, we used the back side of Visapur fort trek route.
In the month of December 2022, we went to Visapur fort using trek route from Patan village. Descended down using trek route to Bhaja cave.
We hired auto from Malavali station to Patan village for Rs.100 & again hired auto from Bhaja caves to Malavali station for Rs.100.
D) Time To Explore Visapur Fort
It will take 3 to 4 hours for 1 complete round around fort.
We started at 1.15 pm & finished at 5.15 pm.
Amazing views are there all around the fort. There are plenty of water ponds, ancient shiv temple & canon.
E) Food Eatables
Only at the entrance of fort (Patan side & back side of Visapur fort) you will get butter milk, lemon juice, biscuits etc).
No food or eatable of any kind on top of fort.
During our August 2022 trip there was huge crowd. In our December 2022 trip we found very less crowd on Visapur fort.

This is must place visit for trek lovers during clear sky day.
