点评：I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the restrictive and commercialised policies I encountered at your facility today. As an experienced golfer, I was eager to introduce the sport to three novices, including two children aged eight and nine.
Unfortunately, the enforcement of highly impractical rules forced us to leave and take our business elsewhere. Upon arrival, my nine-year-old son decided he did not wish to play. While I found the policy of charging a full green fee for a non-playing spectator to be unreasonable, I agreed to pay his entry fee so he could still accompany us.
However, the receptionist then insisted that we also purchase golf club hire for him. Despite my explicit confirmation that the child would not be playing or swinging a club, the staff member maintained that a non-playing nine-year-old was required to rent and carry a set of clubs merely to walk the course.
Forcing a young child to pay for and carry unneeded equipment to spend time with family is entirely counterproductive to growing the game of golf. This approach gives the distinct impression of prioritising immediate revenue over customer service and youth development.
Furthermore, charging a £4 fee to use the putting green feels like unnecessary revenue gathering rather than encouraging engagement.
Thankfully, a nearby club (Singing hills) was more than welcoming and gladly accommodated our group. I hope management reviews these rigid guidelines, as they actively alienate the next generation of players.
